What are the different types of tissue? Connective tissue, muscle tissue, nervous tissue and epithelial tissue
What is an organ? A group of tissues that work together for the survival of an organism
What is an organ system? A group of organs that work together to form a healthy organism
What does the nucleus do? It controls cell activities
What does the cell membrane do? It holds all the cell parts together and controls what enters and exits the cell
What is the function of the cell wall? It gives strength and protection to a plant cell
What does cytoplasm do? It surrounds and gives structure to cell parts
What is the function of small vacuoles? Stores food and water in animal cells
What is the function of the large vacuole? Stores food and water in plant cells
What is the function of mitochondria? Provides energy for the cell
What is the function of chloroplast? Contains chlorophyll which helps the plant make its own food using photosynthesis
What does the nucleus look like? A big black sphere
Describe cytoplasm A jelly-like liquid
Describe mitochondria

What is the coarse focus knob? This knob is used to move the stage and see the image clearer at low magnification
What is the nosepiece? The nosepiece is used to rotate the objective lenses into position
What is the light/mirror used for? To shine light up through the object being used
