| FOOD OF NAPÓ: 1.Fish fillet maito: wrapped in bijao leaf, served with yucca, hearts of palm and yuyo doodle. It is a wrap of pre-Hispanic origin, with river fish (catfish, bocachico, cachama, pintadillo) in bijao, banana, palm or shiguango leaves tied with a natural fiber and cooked over charcoal embers. 2. Skewer of legs veryo or white cacao: it grows wild in the Amazon and is a typical food of Napo. Their seeds are roasted on a bamboo stick and served with chicha de yuca or chonta. In addition, the national Amazonian cocoa is recognized for being unique in the world. 3.Chicha de chontaduro and yucca: it is a fermented drink made from the fruits of the chonta known as chontaduros. It is a chicha that many times replaces the also common, chicha de yuca. | |
| TOURIST PLACES OF NAPO: ° Santa Catalina Complex: Papallacta is a peaceful and quiet place, the landscape here is perfect, especially when noticing how the high mountains completely cover the valley with paramo vegetation. ° Papallacta Lacustrine System: The water comes mainly from the snowmelt of the Cayambe and Sarahurco mountains and from many springs in the surrounding moorlands. ° El Duende Waterfall: The delicious song of the birds and their colorful plumage makes the visitor feel in a paradise, full of tranquility, this beautiful set of waterfalls is surrounded by vegetation typical of the area, giving it a unique and spectacular setting. ° Quijos: From hot springs, beautiful stops and the jungle at your feet, a waste of nature, adventure and rest. ° Archidona: An ancient town where its customs, legends and traditions endure over time and in the identity of its inhabitants. | COSTUMES OF NAPO Saya's costume: It consists of a blouse with stitched short sleeves, the skirt is long in intense colors with ruffles and ornaments with colored ribbon for the flights, invisible colors are used to grab the hair and adorn the head. |
