CIVILISATION Term used to describe a society that has towns, religion, culture and a complex form of government.
ISOLATED - Cut off from - Separate from - Having no contact with
DYNASTY (plural: DYNASTIES) A line of rulers from the same family, and the time period during which they ruled.
PRIMARY SOURCE A source that was created at the time / in the time being investigated, e.g.: - bones, skeletons, items found in tombs - art : paintings, mosaics, sculptures - pottery, tools, weapons - household utensils, toys - letters, diaries, photographs
BARBARIANS Term used by the Chinese to describe anyone who was not Chinese or who lived outside Chinese borders.
MANDATE OF HEAVEN In the early days the Chinese people ruled their authority based on the mandate of heaven. This means that the Chinese people were chosen by gods who would rule them.
MAUSOLEUM The Mausoleum is a large tomb structure
INSCRIPTION Inscriptions is the writing on the bronze wepons
BUREAUCRAT Bureaucrat is when you have the power/ ability to give orders to a large population of peasants artisans, landless labours and some slaves.
CONSCRIPTED Conscripted means when someone is forced to become a soldier.
INFANTRY Infantry is when soldiers fight by foot.
ARTISAN An Artisan is a skilled worker that works in a trade.
MERCHANT Merchants were people who organised the business and the trade.
ARMOURER An Armourer is someone who is a maker or a repairer of armour.
GENTRY

NOMADIC Nomadic is a group of people who's homes aren't stable which means they travel from time to time to find food or shelter.
