Question Answer
Electroneurogram (ENG) Compound bio-potential registered from a peripheral nerve, i.e the sum action of action potentials from the nerve fibers, which the nerve contains.
Rheobase (R) The threshold value at which the graphic dependence between its intensity and the duration needed to elicit response forms a line parallel to the abscissa. At this minimal threshold value the response does not depend on the duration of stimulation
Utilization time (Tn) The minimum duration of an electric threshold stimulus just sufficient to excite the membrane.
Chronaxie (Cr) The minimum interval of time necessary for a stimulus with an intensity of two rheobases (2R), to act in order to excite a nerve/muscle/
Lability The maximum number of stimuli, which a given excitable system can receive and transmit unchanged per unit of time. - Lability is inversely proportional to the refractory period and defines the re-activity of an excitable system regarding multiply impulses.
