Possesive Nouns A possesive noun shows ownership
Plural Noun A plural noun is the form of a noun used to show there are more than one. Most nouns simply add –s or –es to the end to become plural.
Subject A subject is the noun or pronoun-based part of a sentence
Predicate is the verb-based part that the subject performs.
Indendent Clause independent clause is a sentence that has a subject and a verb
Dependant Clause Dependent clauses, which start with subordinating conjunctions such as "while," "that," or "unless," give background information but cannot stand on their own as sentences.
Subject Verb The subject-verb agreement means that the verb must agree with the subject of the sentence. For instacne, different helping verbs (e.g., is, are, was, were, has, have) are used for singular or plural subject.
Quotations A quotation is a sentence or phrase taken from a book, poem, or play, which is repeated by someone else
Singular Noun singular noun names one person, place, thing, or idea, while a plural noun names more than one person, place, thing, or idea.
Proper Noun a noun that designates a particular being or thing, does not take a limiting modifier
Plot the plan or main story
Setting The setting of a text is the place and time used within the text.
Conflicted conflict is a clash between two opposing forces that creates the narrative thread for a story. Conflict occurs when the main character struggles with either an external conflict or an internal conflict
Theme the main idea or underlying meaning a writer explores in a novel, short story, or other literary work. The theme of a story can be conveyed using characters, setting, dialogue, plot, or a combination of all of these elements
Point of view point of view, in literature, the vantage point from which a story is presented
