Function of the adjective | Adjectives are words used to give information about nouns (people, things, places, or animals). For example: The green ball. In this example, ball is the noun (the thing) and green is a qualifying adjective used to give information about the ball. |
The use of adjectives | Adjectives are used to inform a quality of the noun or name that it accompanies. According to the intensity with which it reports that quality, we speak of degree. The adjective has three degrees: positive, comparative and superlative. |
Examples | An adjective is a type of word that provides information about the qualities or elements that characterize a noun. We present a general list with examples of adjectives: cute, ugly, tall, short, nice, friendly, slow, fast, attentive, small, big, fat, skinny, curious, happy, sad, new, old, yellow, blue, red, green, simple, dirty, clean, strong, fragile, cruel, wide, thin, among others. |
