WHAT IS ORDINAL DATA? | The data collected is ordered in some kind of way. Attitude scales are a common example of ordinal data. |
WHAT IS NOMINAL DATA? | The data collected falls in to one of several separate categories. Age and shoe size are common examples of nominal data. |
WHAT IS INTERVAL/RATIO DATA? | The data collected is separated by equal intervals: seconds, minutes etc. Scores on memory test are common examples of interval/ratio data. |
