What is an IDE An IDE stands for Integrated Development Environment. they are used to make writing a program easier by combining all the tasks needed in a single place. E.G. compiling and interpreting.
What do IDE's have IDE's contain the following: A text editor to allow you to write the code features to make the code writing easier for example different statements in different colours etc tools that allow you to make the code ready to run Basic debugging
Advantage of IDE's Step through the code line by line breakpoints "watch" a variable as it goes through the program follows company standards some IDE's make code comments compulsory
Disadvantages of IDE's IDE's can be quite complex and most of the time require some learning which could be off putting or difficult for beginners.
