dependent variable	a variable whose value depends on that of another. used on y axis
destarch	process of eliminating starch stored in a plant for experiments concerning photosynthesis. This is done by leaving the plant(s) in a dark place for a long period of time.
Ethanol	Alcohol used in testing a leaf for starch
farmers profit vs cost	farmers have had a decrease in profit due to the cost of creating the product e.g. milk
gas exchange	the exchange of gas between oxygen and carbon dioxide in the alveolus
glucose	sugar used in respiration and photosynthesis
Hydrogen carbonate indicator	indicator which shows the movement of oxygen in and out of a plant
Independent variable	same as controlled variable, Controlled variables are quantities that a scientist wants to remain constant, and he must observe them as carefully as the dependent variables.
iodine	when a leaf is taken out of a beaker containing ethanol, a few drops of iodine should be added to show the presence of starch
