What are Biotic Factors? are living factors e.g. Food, Competition, Predation, Parasitism
What are Climatic Factors? is weather over a period of time e.g. Temperature, Rainfall, Light Intensity, Wind
What are Edaphic Factors? relate to the soil e.g. Soil pH, Soil Type, Humus
What are Aquatic Factors? relate to organisms living in or near water-based environments e.g. Currents, Wave action,
What is the main source of energy for the Earth and its ecosystems? The Sun
What does Flora mean? plants and algae
What does Fauna mean? animals
What is a grazing food chain? A grazing food chain is a sequence of organisms in which each one is eaten by the next member in the chain
What is a Food Web? A food web consists of two or more interlinked food chains
What is a producer? A producer is an organism that makes its own food
What is a consumer? A consumer is an organism that takes its food from another ogranism
What is a herbivore? A herbivore is a organism that feeds on flora
What is a carnivore? A carnivore is an organism that feeds mainly on meat
What is a Pyramid of Numbers? A pyramid of numbers represents the number of organisms at each stage (trophic level) in a food chain
What type of pyramid of numbers is this? An inverted pyramid of numbers
What is a Niche? A niche is the fundamental role of an organism in an ecosystem or habitat
