Question | Answer |
What is Brownian Motion | The irregular motion suspended in particles. (Move in random directions.) |
What is diffusion? | When particles move from a high concentration to a low concentration. |
Solid | Fixed pattern (Lattice Structure) strong bonds keep them held in place. Make tiny vibrations. |
Liquid | Close together, no strickt rows. No longer in lattice structure. Forces are weaker than solid but only slightly. Slide past each other. |
Gas | Far apart, move quickly almost no force holding the particles together. Collide and bounce in all directions. |
What is Sublimation? | Sublimation is a transaction from a solid to a gas without going through the liquid stage. E.g Dry ice Snow & Ice |
Gas pressure | Air pressure is caused by the force of air gas particles colliding. Air pressure is equal in all directions. Adding heat effects how slow/ fast the particles move. |
