Describe the Autonomy vs Shame+ doubt crisis, and what age does this happen? | age- 18 months- 3 years Autonomy refers to independence and feelings of self-control and confidence. If caregivers are over protective then shame + doubt will develop. |
Describe the generativity vs stagnation crisis, and what age does this happen? | age- 25-65 years Generativity is expressed by caring about oneself, one's children, and future generation. Adults who do not achieve generativity may feel stagnation (self-absorption and failing to find a way to contribute) |
What stage is this? freedom of play, imagination and asking questions promotes initiation where children use their own resourcefulness to resolve problems. Feeling of guilt about initiating activities are formed when parents criticize severely, prevent play or discourage questions. | Initiative vs guilt 3-5 years. |

Describe the integrity vs despair crisis, and what age does this happen? | 65+ years The person who has lived richly and responsibly develops a sense of integrity. This allows the person to face ageing and death with dignity. If adults feel unhappy with their life path and missed opportunities, and they may suffer from despair or regret. |
