Question Answer
CARBOHYDRATES These are like fuel, slow realising energy. examples: bread / potatoes / cereals.
PROTIENS These are vital for growth and to repair damaged areas. examples: meat/ egg / fish.
FATS fats act as a store of energy, which you use if you body runs out of carbohydrates. e.g. butter/ cooking oil / cream.
VITAMINS only needed in small amounts, they keep many vital processes happening. e.g. veg, fruit, cereal.
MINERALS iron- blood calcium- teeth/bones sodium- nerves iodine ( seafood) - thyroid
FIBRE it keeps your body healthy and fit and working. same as vitamins.
WATER about 75% of your body is water and all chemical reactions take place in water.
