Chemical properties A characteristic of a substance that describes the ability to change other substances (flammability, reactivity)
Physical properties A property of matter not involving in its manifestation a chemical change (as color, hardness, boiling point)
Diffusion A process of particles in a state of liquid, gas or solid moving from a higher concentration to a lower concentration
Boiling Process of turning liquid into gas
Condensing Process of turning gas into liquid
Melting Process of turning solid into liquid
Freezing Process of turning liquid into solid
Element A substance that cannot be broken down into simpler substances by chemical means
Isotopes Atoms that have the same atomic number, but different mass numbers
Electron A negatively charged particle founded from further away from the nucleus
Proton A positively charged particle (smaller than an atom) founded in the nucleus
Neutron A particle found in the nucleus it has no electrical charge which means it is not positive neither negative particle
Relative atomic mass The average weighted mass of the isotopes of the element
Relative formula mass The sum of the atomic weights of the atoms in the empirical formula of the compound
Covalent bonding A type of bond formed between a non-metal and a non metal (negative and negative) element
Ionic bonding A type of bond formed between a metal and a non-metal (positive and negative) element
Compound A substance mixed with two or more elements, a mixture
