Question Answer
Law of conservation of energy Energy can neither be created or destroyed, but can change form. The total energy in any closed system is constant.
Work Done Work done by a force : The product of a force and displacement in the direction of the force. Work done by an expanding gas : Work done= pressure.change in volume.
Deriving kinetic energy
G.P.E and E.P Gravitational potential energy : energy possessed by an object due to its position. Elastic potential energy : possessed by an object due to its state of deformation. Electric potential energy : associated with the interaction between bodies due to their electric charge.
Deriving Gravitational Potential Energy
Power Power : work done per unit of time. Power= work done / time taken
Deriving power
Efficiency Ratio of (useful) output of energy of a machine to the input energy efficiency=(Useful energy output/Total energy input) * 100
