Question Answer
List in order the steps for a tritation experiment. 1. using a pipette and a pipette filler, add some alkali (usually about 25cm3) to a conical flask, along with two or three drops of indicator solution. 2. The indicator used depends on the strengths of the acid and alkali. - Phenolphthalein is used for weak acid and strong alkali. - Methyl orange is used for strong acid and weak alkali. - If both the acid and alkali are strong any acid base indicator can be used. 3. Fill the burette with acid.
