Poverty impacts : | - Being able to purchase the quantity of nutritious food needed to sustain life. - Being able to access the required health care to treat preventable illnesses. - Being able to afford shelter to protect families from danger and extreme environmental conditions. |

Purpose of Goal 3 | - Raise SES of women in developing countries through ensuring that females have equal access to education. - Empower women by increasing opportunities for involvement in decision-making processes that affect their life. |
Reasons why Goal 3 is important | - Females are generally less likely than males to have access to education. - Numeracy and Literacy skills can help women develop personal businesses. - Education EMPOWERS women -> higher paid employment, less likely to work in jobs that impact their health negatively. |
Goal 3, Target 1 | Eliminate gender disparity in primary and secondary education, preferably by 2005, and in all levels of education by no later than 2015. |

Reasons why Goal 5 is important | - Maternal mortality rates are high in developing countries. - If mothers are in good health, they can take better care of their families. |

Reasons why Goal 7 is important | - Environmental sustainability -> reducing biodiversity loss. This ensures that resources, such as food from plants and animals continue to be available. - When forests are destroyed, rivers are polluted and food becomes scarce, it is usually the poorest people who are most affected. |
Goal 7, Target 1 | Integrate principles of sustainable development into country policies and programs and reverse the loss of environmental resources. |
