What happened after the conference? | Hitler began to rearm Germany and by 1935, Conscription was introduced (breaking the terms of the Treaty of Versailles). BR and FR did very little (occupied with Abyssinian crisis+depression). |
What was the non-aggression with Poland? | Germany and Poland signed a pact in 1934, guaranteeing Polish boundaries for 10 years. This pleased the british, who saw Hitler as more peaceful. Hitler was actually "buying time". |
What was the Anglo-German naval agreement? | In in 1935, Britain and Germany signed this allowing the Germans to build up their navy to 35% of the British navy with no limits on submarines |
Significance of the Anglo-German naval agreement? | Allowing Hitler to openly break the terms of the Treaty of Versailles. Agreement was signed without consulting the French (damaged British-French relations). |
