MAR Memory Address Register - Used to hold the address of the data in memory
MDR Memory Data Register - Used to hold the data retrieved from memory or data to be sent to memory
PC Program Counter - Holds memory address of the next instruction. Indicates where computer is in programme sequence.
Acc Accumulator - Register in which results from arithmetic and logic are stored.
CIR Current Instruction Register - Holds current instruction to be executed having been fetched from memory. Stores operator and operand for current instruction
