Sedimentary Rocks Formed by sediment that is deposited over time, usually as layers at the bottom of lakes and oceans. Sometimes plants and animals get into the layer and create fossils
Igneous Rocks Formed by the cooling of lava or magma in tiny crystals. From the latin word 'ignis' meaning fire.
Metamorphic Rocks Sedimentary or igneous rocks that have changed overtime because of extreme heat or pressure
