Question | Answer |
Positive Reinforcement | The process of encouraging or establishing a pattern of behaviour by offering reward when the behaviour is exhibited. |
Negative Reinforcement | A response or behaviour is strengthened by stopping, removing or avoiding a negative outcome or aversive stimulus. |
Punishment | Opposite to reinforcement because it is designed to weaken or eliminate a response rather than increase. It is an aversive event that decreases the behaviour that it follows. |
