Neural Crest Neural plate cells that break away to a dorso lateral point. Derivatives = PNS, pigment cells, bone cartilage and connective tissue in the head.
Ectoderm Outer layer, gives rise to: CNS, epidermis of skin, nasal, lens and otic plasodes(nasal chambers, lens and inner ear)
Endoderm Inner layer, gives rise to: epithelial lining of primitive gut, respiratory tract, associated mural glands, bladder, middle ear and auditory tube. Also to parenchymal cells of liver, pancreas, thyroid and parathyroid glands.
Mesoderm Middle layer, gives rise to: urogenital, circulatory and supportive musculature and skeletal systems.
