Question Answer
What is wave power? A wave generator uses the waves to make a floating generator move up and down - the motion turns the generator which then generates electricity. A cable between the generator and shoreline delivers the energy to the grid system.
Advantages of wave power → Renewable - won't run out → No harmful gases released → generates a fair amount of electricity if its really wavy.
disadvantages of wave power → they need to withstand storms → unreliable → lots of cables and buildings needed to connect the generators to the grid → spoils coastline → tidal patterns may change, affecting marine life and birds
