- Request client inputs
- Area of interest? (lat lon constraints) Min licence size? e.g 200ML/yr Restrictions allowed? Y/N Min distance to major road? 'Categories' to remove / include? (e.g. brewing v quarrying) Unwanted aquifers? (e.g. Chalk)
- Open NALD Excel database (obtained from regulator)
- Remove duplicates. (reduces aggregated licences to a single entry)
- Remove all outside search area
- Remove all not close enough to major road
- Remove any undesired aquifer units
- Remove all licences under required volume
- Remove any unwanted primary categories
- Remove any unwanted secondary categories
- Display long-list as table and as map
- Review initial screened results.
- Continue to second screening phase
