a blade, plate, sail, etc., in
the wheel of a windmill, to
be moved by the air.
mechanical break
A circuit breaker is an automatically operated
electrical switch designed to protect an electrical
circuit from damage caused by excess current,
typically resulting from an overload or short circuit.
Its basic function is to interrupt current flow after a
fault is detected. Unlike a fuse, which operates once
and then must be replaced, a circuit breaker can be
reset (either manually or automatically) to resume
normal operation.
anemometer
an instrument for measuring the
speed of the wind, or of any
current of gas.
rotor
of an
electromagnetic
machine or of a
turbine rotating
within a fixed
element
radiator
a device constructed from
thin-walled tubes and metal
fins, used for cooling
circulating water, as in an
automobile engine.
orientation motor
larger machines an
electrically-driven yawing
motor, controlled by a small
yaw-vane or by a small
pilot windmill, and rotating
the head of the main
machine through a bull gear,
might be preferable,
especially in producing
much quicker orientation.
