  1. Aesthetic: the branch of philosophy concerned with identifying the criteria about works of art
    1. Aesthetician: scholar who cultivates an unusually high sensitivity towards beauty
      1. Who's an artist?: is a man able to create. Has ideas that comunicates what he feels
        1. Art: is found everywhere. Art is history. The artist is a philosopher, a critic and a moralist.
          1. Independently of the Elements of Art
            1. Theme: the genre of type where it's placed.
              1. Means: are the material or resources that an artist uses.
                1. Style: allow us to identify an artist individually.
                  1. Composition: the way in wich all the elements are arranged
                    1. Format: design of a work of art.
            2. The Elements of Art
              1. Color: it gives life to the work of art adding power and attraction.
                1. Value: even if there's no color there can be abrupt
                  1. Texture: the way it feels (smooth, rough, etc)
                    1. Shape and Form: shapes refer to a 2 dimensional (lenght and width) area clearly set by other visual elements. Form has to do with 3 dimensional spaces.
                      1. Space: distance or area in between, around, below, above, or within things.
              2. Principles of Art,
                1. Balance: way of combining elements to add feeling or equilibrium.
                  1. Emphasis: way of combining elements to stress the difference between those elements.
                    1. Harmony: way of combining similar elements to accent their similarities.
                      1. Variety: way of combining elements to create complicated relationships.
                        1. Gradation: way of combining elements by a gradual series of changes in them.
                          1. Movement: principle of art used to create the look and feeling of action.
                            1. Rythm: created by the careful placement of repeated elements to cause a tempo or beat
                              1. Proportion: concerned with the relationship of a certain elements to the whole and to each other.
                2. The Art Criticism Approach
                  1. Description: discovering what is in the work. Acknowledge all the elements in the work.
                    1. Analysis: how the work is organized or put together taking in account the principles of art and thus understanding the desing qualities or how well the work is organized
                      1. Interpretation: discover the feeling, mood or idea that the work communicates
                        1. Judgment: grade personal opinion of the work.
                  2. History Approach
                    1. Description: when, where and by whom was the work made
                      1. Analysis: analyzes the characteristics to determine the style
                        1. Interpretation: interprents how the time and epoch influences the artist
                          1. Judgment: impact over other artist and works
