THEORIES
  1. Panspermia Theories
    1. Hypothesis
      1. Lithopanspermia
        1. This theory sees that rocks from the planet´s surface serve and transfer vehicles for spreading biological material from one solar system to another
        2. Ballistic panspermia
          1. Impact-expelled rocks from a planet's surface serve as transfer vehicles for spreading biological material from one planet to another within the same solar system.
          2. Directed Panspermia
            1. Life may have been purposely spread by an advanced extraterrestrial civilization, or can be spread from Earth to other planets by humans.
          3. History
            1. The panspermia theory was invented in the nineteenth century by the scientists Jöns Jacob Berzelius, Lord Kelvin and Hermann von Helmholtz
              1. The announcement of the discovery of evidence of life on ALH84001 sparked a surge in support for the theory of panspermia. People began to speculate about the possibility that life originated on Mars
                1. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, Stephen Hawking discussed the possibility of building a human base on another planet and gave reasons why alien life might not be contacting the human race, during his conclusion of the Origins Symposium at Arizona State University.

              3. Creationist theory
                1. All life was created by the actions of God
                  1. Neo-creationism or intelilgent dising
                    1. - Earth has come about through the actions of an intelligent Designer.
                    2. The organisms created by God can't produce new forms of organism - only God can do this
                      1. Forms of creationism
                        1. Young Earth creationism
                          1. the Earth and all forms of life were created by God in 6 days, around 10,000 years ago
                          2. Old Earth creationism
                            1. The universe, Earth, and life were created by processes in which God played an active part
                              1. God acts both by direct creation and by guiding the processes he created
                              2. Gap creationism
                                1. This theory reconciles the age of the Earth with the story in Genesis
                                  1. There were two creations - one before Adam, and a second one, which included Adam and Eve, after a lengthy time gap
                                  2. Day-Age creationism
                                    1. There were two creations - one before Adam, and a second one, which included Adam and Eve, after a lengthy time gap
                                2. Spontaneous Theory
                                  1. Spontaneous generation or anomalous generation is an obsolete body of thought on the ordinary formation of living organisms without descent from similar organisms. Spontaneous generation refers both to the supposed processes in which different types of life might repeatedly emerge from specific sources other than seeds, eggs or parents, and also to the theoretical principles which were presented in support of any such phenomena.
                                    1. Spontaneous theory versions
                                      1. 1.-The doctrine of spontaneous generation was coherently synthesized by Aristotle, who compiled and expanded the work of prior natural philosophers and the various ancient explanations of the appearance of organisms.
                                        1. 2.-Another version of spontaneous generation is variously termed univocal generation, heterogenesis or xenogenesis, in which one form of life has been supposed to arise from a different form, such as tapeworms from the bodies of their hosts.
                                      2. Physical chemistry theory
                                        1. The hypothesis of Oparin was proved by the experiment of Urey-Millerin 1953, who produced amino acids from a mixture of chemicals and physical conditions that they considered similar to those prevailing in the early Earth.
                                          1. This theory was proposed by Alexander Oparin in 1923 because he wanted to explain that life could come from no living substances.
