go hand in hand, whether it simple
day-to-day talk, song or food.
CULTURE: Is a the Knowledge and features
of a particular group of people includes
tangible and intangible aspects. "The
shared attributes, (i.e., common history,
attitudes, values, behaviors, practices, and
artifacts) of a group" (Boulding, 2000)

people from other national and
geographical groups.

INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE- ICC:
It is refers to "ability to ensure a shared
understanding by people of different social identities,
and the ability to interact with people as complex
human beings with multiple identities and their own
individuality” (Byram, Gribkova, & Starkey, 2002, p.
10). So the idea is that you understand you own
culture and others and you be able to use this
understanding to communicate with people from
other cultures successfully.

The aim of educating the learners to have
intercultural competence in the world
arena would be attained when the
instructor do not regard target culture as a
threat to the native culture.
Pedagogical documents and the application of suitable
teaching practices would enable the instructor to
facilitate the inclusion of the term ‘culture’ in their
courses.

Is the ability to understand the feelings
of individuals who are ethnically and/or
culturally different from oneself. For
example it involves the ability to walk
in another’s shoes .

COGNITIVE FLEXIBILITY
Generally refers to the ability to switch a behavioral
response according to the context of a situation (Scott,
1962). So, is the ability to change what you are thinking
about, how you are thinking, is when you change your
mind, for example in your school or your work.
