working people, business men, housewives and schoolchildren, take the train
to their daily activities
the train is the way people in buenos aires move about to carry on their daily

carrying lunch boxes also some of them are a spacial
kind of worker
they go around the city collecting used paper, carton, cans, and
plastic bottles, to sell to recycling plants.
mothers with small children must take them along or leave them home,
alone. older children work with the rst of the family
informal workers used to travel along with professionals and employees, in the
train.
after many complaints from passengers from the most exclusive parts of the city, the train
company came up with a solution. they would offer these informal workers the same train, at
special hours and for a nominal fee, to take them to the city and back home
informal workers are now seen as contributing members of the society
they are hard working families, where every member adds to the family finances and they also improve
the environment, by collecting and recycling waste products, which would otherwise end up in garbage
dumps
the informal works now they have a special place in the train and in society
