SUMMARY
1. The story is set in the nineteenth century and in the village of Sleepy Hollow (in the state of New York) strange stories about a headless horseman.
  1. Ichabod Crane, a skeptical professor passing through the village ignores stories and is more interested in the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel (daughter of a wealthy landowner).
    1. Ichabod tries to keep her from Brom Bones, his rival for the love of Katrina, until one night he is chased by the rider and disappears.
