Brush that is rubbed over the ice in
front of a moving stone to alter its
trajectory or improve its sliding.

Ice surface on which a match is
played; when an end is complete,
the next end starts from the
opposite end of the sheet.

BROOMSTACKING
It is tradition for the losing team to buy the
winning team a drink. This is known as
BROOMSTACKING beacause players used to
stack their brooms by fire while socializing after
a game
Curles are expected to call infracations on
themselves avoid distracting the other team and to
congratulate opponents for good shots
Teams begin by shaking hands with the traditional
greeting"GOOD CURLING" and shake hands agains at the
end of the game
