Relationships
Straight Lines
y=mx+c
y-b=m(x-a)
y= y co-ord
x= x co-ord
c= y-intercept
m= (y2-y1) ÷ (x2-x1)
Simultaneous equations
Label each equation 1 and 2
find a value that can be added or subtracted on each line to make 0 e.g. 2x and 2x on each line
If not times the lines so they have a matching value
take away/add the entire line to make value 0
now simplfy the expression to find the remaining letter
sub this value into one of the equations to find the other one
7x+2y=32 (1) 3x-2y=8 (2) (add) 10x+0=40 x=4 Sub (x=4) into (2) 3X4+2y=8 y=2 x=4 y=2
