The Roman archers would use the normal bow and would travel by foot
They started to use mounted archery once that came into conflict with Eastern European countries

The Roman Cavalry would ride horses and their weapon was a sword

Commanders would be in charge of the Roman Army

The Roman Reserves would replace people who had died in battle or if they had gotten a promotion

The Auxiliaries were people that were non-Roman citizens
The Army was divided into legionaries of 4000 men
Only Roman citizens could become legionnaires
Non-citizens could join a reserve force called “auxiliaries”
The Roman Empire invaded a lot of countries in Europe

The way that the Roman Empire was so stretched, this is what led to its downfall as it couldn’t control all the areas that they had conquered
Money
They got money from invading other countries
They lost money from overspending when in war
The Barbarians
The Germanic tribes over through the Romans with help from the Barbarians
The Roman Empire got attacked by the Barbarians leading to the Fall of the Roman Empire
The Barbarians helped Germania to take back their country and in the end Germania helped them end the Roman Empire
Economic failures on slave Labour.
They had trouble paying workers as they were overspending on the war that they were in
Rome had mostly relied on Slave Labour until then, but with the economy crumbling, Rome’s slaves had stopped working
Religion
The Christian Religion rose because of the loss of Roman traditions and the decline of Rome itself
They believed in many Gods
Every God gave something to them

Their location was key to their success as Rome is in the middle of Europe so it was easy to take over countries close to it
Fights within the Roman Empire
The main reason was that the Emperor didn’t like the Senate or the Senate didn’t like the Emperor. This was seen quite usually when an Emperor was appointed.
Circus Maximus
The Circus Maximus made Romans hate each other as it was a very competitive sport
The Colosseum
The Colosseum was a negative as it taught Romans to fight but it also taught them to start a rebellion
The Rise of the Byzantium Empire
The Byzantium Empire sent the Barbarian troops coming from the East straight into the West of Rome
