I want to go to University in order to expand my knowledge on my chosen subject- Science (generally) in order to pursue a
career. The prospect of university is an exciting one- a chance to experience a greater degree of independence than I currently have.
I would like to use the knowledge I gain in university to obtain a career. This career may or may not be based
around Science but will certainly involve the skills I have picked up during my time at University and, judging by
what I have read and heard at open days, seminars and online, this is entirely possible- the course(s) I am
interested in our versatile and allow this room for manoeuvre
About the subject and the course
Why I've chosen the course
Maths and Chemistry are both subjects I have a keen interest in and Chemical engineering utilises both of these subjects while offering some degree of diversity- I
believe either pure maths or chemistry as a degree course would not offer enough variation. Chemical engineering also allows the logic of physics to be applied,
which I believe comes naturally to me.
Chemistry interests me as the true structure of very common, everyday objects is made apparent- water, for example, a substance vital
for life itself, is in fact a highly unusual element as a result of the inteolecular bonds it makes between its molecules
