   Annotations:

   • - Fähigkeit / Erlaubnis, etwas in der Gegenwart zu tun - Bitte / Angebot / Vorschlag / Möglichkeit Can you wait a moment, please? I can lend you my car till tomorrow.

      Annotations:

      • - Fähigkeit / Erlaubnis aus der Vergangenheit - etwas höflicher als can Could you wait a moment, please? I could lend you my car till tomorrow. Besonderheit im if-Satz Typ 2: - can und may bilden das conditional nicht mit would - can wird zu could und may zu might If i were not afraid of water, I could go snorkeling.
      1. Ersatzformen
