Treat each lumen as dedicated line - drugs do not 'mix'
Positive pressure devices
Flush 10mL syringe, DO NOT clamp
Complications
Thrombosis
Blood stream infection (CRBSI)
Local irritation
Air embolism

Pulled out/ change in length
Bio patch- blue to the sky
Neutral pressure devides (normal bung)
Flush + CLAMP
To ensure the device is "pressure locked", use a 10mL syringe with 8mL Push Flush post all IV
Even after IVF infusion flush - A BURETTE 'FLUSH' is not the same thing - the line will occlude if it is not "pressure locked" with a 10 mL syringe
