    1. Milgram&Elms (1966) - interviewed small sample of fully obedient pps, who also scored highly on F scale, see if there's a link between obedience & auth pers
      1. Concluded: only a correlation not cause and effect relationship
      2. Zilmer et al (1995) - 16 Nazi war criminals scored highly on 3 F scale dimensions but not all 9 -> only limited support
      3. Reductionist - only focuses on personality doesn't take into consideration social, env + cog factors
        1. Methodological
          1. Greenstein (1969) - Response bias - F-scale all worded in one direction, if you agree w/ everything you come out as v authoritarian = low internal validity - is it really testing what it's meant to be?
            1. Adorno et al interviewed pps afterwards about childhood exps however knew their test score - research bias
              1. Could've done two blind test
            2. Politically biased - measures tendency towards right wing ideology
