              1. There are many challenges when it comes to being a Sikh in the uk one of them is the fact that you are not allowed to cut your hair.
                1. Also, most Sikhs carry the kirpan around with them. Some people will not understand that this is part of there religion.
                2. My point of view about the challenges of being a Sikh is that it could be easier because in places like india people can be prejudice towards others.

                    1. Guru Nanak was the founder of Sikhism.
                      1. Facts about Guru Nanak.
                        1. Guru Nanak became a religious teacher because he visited god. He started teaching about a new faith using ideas from Hinduism and Islam.
                          1. He helped people because people were losing sight of god in their lives because of greed and superstition.
                            1. Guru Nanak's birthday is celebrated by Sikhs on April the 14th (by the Nanakshahi calendar)
                              1. His family were Hindus.
                                1. Guru Nanak showed an advanced interest in religion and studied Islam and Hinduism.
                          2. He made new rules.
                    2. Guru Gobind Singh
                      1. Guru Gobind Singh taught Sikhs that they should stand up for themselves and others, even if they risk their lives in doing so.
                        1. Guru Gobind Singh was the last of the ten Guru's.
                          1. Guru Gobind Singh introduced many of the customs Sikhs praise today.
                            1. When he was young his mission was to uphold right in every place and destroy sin and evil.
                              1. From my point of view I think Guru Gobind Singh stood up for his people and there belief in a peaceful way.

                          1. A Gurdwara is a place where Sikhs come together and worship.
                            1. The first Gurdwara was built by Guru in 1521-2
                              1. The Punjab meaning of Gurdwara is the door that leads to the Guru.
                                1. There are 200 Gurdwaras in Britain.
                                  1. Even though a Gurdwara may be called the resident of god Sikhs still believe god is everywhere.
                                    1. The purpose of the Gurdwara is to teach children the Sikh faith, spiritual wisdom and a place for religious ceremonies.
                                      1. Gurdwaras are run by a committee of there community.
                                        1. There are four doors into Gurdwara ,known as the door of peace, the door of livelihood, the door of learning and the door of grace.
                          2. Guru Granth Sahib
                            1. The guru Granth Sahib is the Sikhs 'bible'.
                              1. But the Guru Granth Sahib is treated and respected as if it were human.
                                1. It has to be kept higher up from everyone else apart from the person reading it.
                                  1. It contains the works of the Sikh founder and all the other 9 gurus .
