Linear equations in one variable have one and only one solution.
Annotations:
You have already learnt this!
2x+8-4=6 etc
Linear equations in two variables may have more than one
solution
Annotations:
You are learning about this now!
Ex: 1.2s+3t=5, p+4q=7 et cetera
Solutions of linear equations does not change when the same number is subtracted or added to both LHS and
RHS
or when you multiply or divide both sides by a non-zero number
Any equation which can be put in the form ax+by+c=0, where a, b and c are real numbers
and a and b are both non-zero, is called a linear equation in two variables.
