TYPES
RING
Each network device is connected to 2 other devices, forming a loop
BUS
All computers and servers are connected in a line to one cable with terminators at either end.
STAR
All computers and servers are connected to a central hub.
ADVANTAGES
Devices can be shared to save money e.g. printer
Files can be easily shared between users
Security is fairly good as users can't see other users' data
DISADVANTAGES
Hackers may be able to gain unauthorised access to a network with private or sensitive information
They can be expensive for maintainance and initial setup costs
Requires training and management as it can be very complex
