1948
In June 1948, Britain, France & USA all joined their zones together to create WEST GERMANY
They introduced a new currency which they said would help trade.
The Berlin Blockade lasted 318 days. During this time 275,000 planes transported 1+ Million tons of supplies.
On May 12th 1949 Stalin abandoned the Blockade.
The next day Stalin cut off all rail & road links to west Berlin
The west saw this as an attempt to starve Berlin into surrender. So they decided to supply them.

January 1947, USA & Britain joined their land to become Bi-Zonia
December 1947 LONDON CONFERANCE - France, USA & Britain Discuss Germany Future.
Early 1948, USA offers Marshall Aid. Stalin Forbids his countries to apply.
Results of the Berlin Crisis
Cold War broke out into an open Confrontation
It saw the beginning of the Arms Race
In 1949 the Allies set up NATO as an alliance to resist Russia
The Iron Curtain became permanent.
