2. The equipment provided must be safe and in good working order
  1. Employers must:
    1. Provide equipment that is:
      1. Fit for pupose
      2. In good working order
    2. Carry out regular safety checks for all equipment
    3. Regularly service/maintain all equipment
    4. PAT test all electrical appliances
3. Employers must provide adequate health and safety training for staff
  1. Employers must:
    1. Provide health and safety training for staff
      1. Must be updated regularly
    2. Train staff in specialist equipment
    3. Hold regular fire/evacuation practices
    4. Provide adequate first aid
4. A written health and safety policy should be provided
  1. Employers must:
    1. Produce a health and safety policy in line with legal requirements
    2. Ensure all staff are aware, and have access to the policy
    3. Display the 'Health and Safety Law' poster in the workplace
5. Protective equipment, if needed, must be available free of charge to employees
  1. Employers must:
    1. Maintain an adequate supply of PPE
    2. Make no charge to staff for PPE
    3. Ensure staff wear the PPE provided
HASWA for EMPLOYEES

    1. Report any hazards to the employer
    2. Take care of themselves and others in the workplace
2. The equipment provided must be safe and in good working order
  1. Employees must:
    1. Not misuse or tamper with equipment
3. Employers must provide adequate health and safety training to staff

    1. Co-operate with their employer by attending health and safety training
4. A written health and safety policy should be provided
  1. Employees must:
    1. Co-operate with their employer by following health and safety regulations in the workplace
5. Protective equipment, if needed, must be available free of charge to employees
  1. Employees must:
    1. Wear any protective clothing provided
