      1. Corporal Punishment- form of punishment where pain is inflicted upon the body
        1. Crime- breaking the law
          1. Imprisonment- when a person is put in jail for commiting a crime

            1. Retribution- means of revenge against the criminal
              1. Deterrence- To put people off commiting crimes
                1. Reformation- To change someone's behaivour for the better
                  1. Protection- to stop the crinimal from harming anyone in society
