Mind-Brain Problem
Free will- ability to make decisions and chose behaviours freely
Determinism- all behaviour is caused by prior events and other factors
Dualism - the mind and body are different substances that exist independantly. Interact via the pineal gland
Interactionism- interact between each other and influence each other
Parallelism- coexist alongside each other but do not interact
Epiphenomenalism- mind is separate but is a non-physical byproduct of the brain
Monism- the universe consists of only one kind of substance
Materialism- everything is physical and psych experiences will later be explained in physical terms
Mentalism- only the mind exists
Identity position- mental and brain processes are the same thing, just described in different terms
