Differences between Compliance and internalisation?

Motivating Factors
1. Each of these types of Conformity has a particular set of motivating conditions that lead to the conforming response.
2. If an individuals prime motivation is too fit in with the group they may comply rather than internalise the groups attitude on a particular issue.
3. If the primary motivation is to find the best way of responding in a particular situation, then internalising the group position may be seen as the most credible way of achieving this.
Future Response
1. If an individual has adopted a particular response through compliance then they would only perform this in the future if monitored by the members of the original group.
2. If they have adopted their response through internalisation then this is likely to be performed whenever the issue arises regardless of whether or not they are being monitored by the original group.
3. The two types differ in the way they determine future responses relating to the issue that they have internally changed for.
