Industrial revolution-from
small towns to large towns
and cities and factories.
Death rates in poor areas were high ,as well as
infectious disease due to overcrowding in homes which
were damp , bad sanitation and polluted water.
The poor only bathed once a year
most where undernourished , anemic rickety
Hospitals were overcrowded and those
who had surgery had a huge chance of
picking up infections as instruments were
not steralised including the staffs hands
The streets where stanching and foul with overflowing cest pits which was
just left to be carried away when it rained this travelled into nearby rivers
which ended up in the River Thames.
Poor families owned only one pot for cooking they lived on soup and stew
and would wash their dishes in the dirty water
