1. ROLE

  3. Joins amino acids together during RNA translation
2. STRUCTURE OF RIBOSOME
  1. Eukaryotes have 60s and 40s subunit which overall equals 80s
  2. Prokaryotes have 50s and 30s which equals 70s overall
TRANSFER RNA
1. STRUCTURE
  2. Anti codon amino acid attached to 3 prime
  3. Longer end is 3 prime shorter end 5 prime
2. ROLE
  1. Translates the message from the mRNA into a long polypeptide chain
3. WOBBLE
  1. tRNAs use wobble to recognise the codon, in the third base of the anticodon. G can also pair with U
    1. A modified base called I is also found this can base pair with A,C,U
      1. Means that less tRNA needed
    2. Normal base pairing still occurs
4. MANUFACTURE
  1. Several tRNA transcribed together to form pre tRNA,
    1. Pre tRNA folds up by base pairing
      1. Cuts using RNAase P and D
        Base Modification
        Aminoacylation
        AMP along with tRNA is attached to AARS with loss of pyrophosphate
        AMP lost and tRNA charged
