      1. Samuel Colt was always interested in guns, explosives, and machinery.

          1. Samuel Colt thought of this idea when he was on a voyage and wanted to use a the same mechanism used to lock a ships's wheel on a gun to make it shoot multiple bullets without reloading.
          2. DETAILS OF INVENTION
            1. The guns in the 1800’s required constant reloading which took a lot of time.
              1. The revolver made this process a lot faster because it was able to shoot multiple bullets without having to reload with the help of a barrel.
                  1. The use of compact bullets was revolutionary at that time. It fired with .28 caliber bullets.
                    1. They cylinder had multiple chambers aligned with a single, stationary barrel. He also made other guns, but they all incorporated a revolving cylinder where gunpowder and bullets were loaded.

                          1. The invention affected the economy by boosting it. This was because guns were very popular and were a necessity back then.
