Baby can also clench eye muscles. Human features are becoming more
distinct
The baby's eyes are moving closer together (once at the side of her head)
The baby's ears are nearly in their final
position.
The baby's organs are now starting to do more complex things. The liver is creating bile and the
kidneys are secreting urine to the bladder.
16 weeks
The baby is now about the size of an avocado
Baby weighs about 100g and is about 10cm long
In the next 3 weeks the foetus will go through tremendous changes. Such as doubling in
weight and adding centimeters to the height of the foetus.
You may find that your foetus will start to play with the
umbilical cord. They may start to pull and grab or even
tug at it.
19 weeks
Baby weighs 190g at 18weeks
By 19 weeks baby weighs around 240g.
Also at 18 weeks, if you're having a girl
uterus and fallopian tubes are now in
place and if you're having a boy his genitals will be distinct and recognisable.
Another scan will take place and you may get
a slight glimpse of what baby is up to.
Baby is now swallowing amniotic fluid and her kidneys continue to make
urine. The hair on the baby's head will start to sprout also.
The foetus sensory development has reaches it's peak this week.
