Internal Resistance
Electric Current
When a switch is closed in a circuit, free electrons in the conductor experience an electric field which causes them to move in one direction.
Electrons will flow from the negative terminal of a battery to the positive terminal.
Energy is provided by a chemical reaction in the battery or by the mains power supply to allow the electron current to flow.
Electric Power
P = IV
Where I is the current through a component and V is the potential difference across a component.
